It's party time!

And don't we all look forward to the fun and high-life that the end of the year brings! It's a fabulous excuse to haunt the shops, treat ourselves to a gorgeous new outfit and – most importantly – some outstanding new shoes.
While a girl can never have too many shoes, the temptation to get a pair of heels that add glamour to that big night out should be held in check just a little. As chiropractors, we notice that the change in posture caused by wearing such glorious footwear can cause damage to our spines. It's all because the signals our brains receive when our feet are "repositioned" is not always that positive.
Estelle recently wrote an article for Living North magazine on the subject so if you are going to be out on the town, read up on how you can also care of your body... click the article on the left to see it at full size.
What's going on...
It's all a bit sudden, but Estelle has been back into hospital to get her pesky knee fixed. She wasn't expecting to get an appointment until the end of this month, but was offered an early one so grabbed it. By the time you see this, she'll be hobbling on crutches again but hoping to be back in to the practice regularly.
Could we remind you that Toy Day is December 7th. We have appointments available so if you would like to book an adjustment for that day, please call.
We get such a lot of support for this event every year and cannot tell you how much the organizers appreciate the care and generosity shown by everyone that takes part.
Smooth moves
The party season is a good time to talk about smoothies. While it might seem like a strange approach, the simplicity of whizzing a whole batch of healthy ingredients in a blender to create a smooth meal in a glass can be a godsend... cure a hangover, fool your kids into actually eating vegetables, or just get some concentrated vitamins into your system.
A taste of the tropics
This smoothie will increase your energy levels and clear your system as it has some of the most powerful antioxidants in the world. It's a great breakfast idea too. Simply take these ingredients, blend and consume. Adjust the spices a little for your kids or add a couple of ice cubes for an ice cream effect when it's hot.
1 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup pineapple or mango chunks
1 fresh banana
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (can be increased to 1 tsp)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon chia (or sunflower) seeds
