the one we all want to hear suggested when the weather is as awful as it is currently.

Historically, and going way back as far as the ancient Egyptians, scribes were the writers and keepers of records. They held high social status as they could read and write when most people could not. Over many thousands of years, they managed governments and royalty, trade, religious and legal bodies. Archaic records – once ink on papyrus or carved on stone – have now evolved into modern day office professions and saved to computers. There’s even a software programme called Scribe.
Armed with an iPad, our scribes help keep the wheels turning at the practice by monitoring and recording all elements of our patient appointments. Most of their time is spent supporting Estelle and Jo, by listening to and noting down the comments patients make and the responses we give.
The first step for the scribes is to perform our regular, basic tests – heart rate, blood pressure, a photo for posture screening. This is passed on to the chiropractors who can then focus on the body, and do all the tests on your movement, nervous system and spine.
By relying on this group in our support team, our appointments can run smoothly throughout the day and our records are kept up to date. We couldn’t do without Becca, Lacey, Holly and Paul, especially as they also support our other support team members by helping out on the desk too.

At the practice —->
You may have met our current scribes, but over the summer, we will also we have had a few new faces and enjoyed hosting some work experience students. We love seeing the next generation come in and watch them develop, possibly into new scribes or maybe, over time, into chiropractors.
And that’s Becca on the left, along with her own special supporter, Luna.
