The weather is slowly warming and our days are getting brighter – and that announces the start of the great outdoor festival season. From the famed Glastonbury to our very own Mouth of Tyne festival, it’s time to head outside and benefit from the fresh air and sun.
However, getting outdoors doesn’t just mean hanging with the music-mad population, there is so much to do and explore before the major summer holidays. Walking on our glorious beaches, cycling in the forests or exploring an ancient castle are all good for our physique, our brains and our mental health.
Our tips for these stress-busting days out include creating a mini-care pack that includes sun screen and hats for your face, bandaids and antiseptic cream for grazes and bumps and plenty of fluids to drink just in case, you get a 24ºC day!
We also recommend taking a bright and healthy lunch to enjoy while admiring a view. Dips and a bag full of chopped vegetables are unbeatable.
Try this amazing high energy avocado dip: take 2 avocados, pitted and skins discarded; 2 spring onions, roughly chopped; 150gms full-fat Greek yogurt; zest and juice of half a lemon; salt and freshly ground black pepper THEN blitz it to a paste and eat.
