Who ever suspected that, as we tripped into a new year last January, we were about to be tripped up in the most unimaginable ways. By Spring we’d be bemoaning our lost summer holidays; by Summer we’d be tentatively stepping out to the pub and by Autumn, we’re heading back inside again…. At least it’s Halloween soon, an excuse for some fun and delicious pumpkin soup – see below! By the way, did you know this tradition originated in Ireland with an ancient Celtic festival that honoured the spirits of departed family and friends. People would set extra places at dinner, and leave treats and candles on doorsteps to help their loved ones find their way back to the spirit world. Perhaps a bonfire and some tricks and treats will help alleviate our current lack of enjoyment in life.
Yet we all know that life goes on so aim to be as positive as possible, especially mentally. It may not be easy some days, but focussing on what is good around us will help. At the practice, we were thinking about what we could do to assist and have decided a competition is just what’s needed. Tell us what you think about when you want to cheer yourself up: memories of your best holiday? The idiotic things your friends or family do that still make you laugh out loud? A joke, a story, an event...
Whatever it is, the author of the tale that makes us laugh the most will be treated to a one hour massage from our adorable Catherine Phillipson. Send us your entry here…

Despite all the changes whirling round us, we are now fairly settled with our current hours and schedules. We have just one minor change in that Vanessa will no longer be working on Wednesdays. Full availability for the whole team is here and Ros, Tracy and Nell are all available to advise and book you in.
We’re also happy to announce our favourite annual event is going ahead:
Toy Day will be on Wednesday December 2nd. This special day is a highlight in our year, as we chiropractors waive our usual fees in exchange for a new toy or non-perishable food item that will be donated to our chosen charities. The Salvation Army and the Whitely Bay Food Bank will distribute the donations to those in need. If you would like to book in, click here…

Spicy Pumpkin Soup
One of our all time favourite soups, whether it’s Halloween or not, is based on pumpkin, with a heathy handful of curry spices thrown in. The full recipe is on our sister site, Living Naturally here…
