Helping you EAT, MOVE and THINK your way to better health
Now we are on Phase 2, with the potential to get past the 'great lockdown,' it's time to think about what we should all be doing next. This may not be an easy step for many, so here are our thoughts on ways to start over.
There are some significant fear factors involved in trying to get back to normal. Many of us have seen family, friends, and friends of friends, directly affected by this pandemic. Yet, most of us also know others that have recovered fully. The last few months have not ben fun, but it's vital that we don't get stuck in a fear cycle.
Our lives need to revert to normal and there are a growing number of ways we are being allowed to do that. Most importantly though, get out as much as you can. If you can work safely, consider doing it. Catch up with your family and join others for a walk. If you see a neighbour, colleague, or even just someone you know from a local business, stop and say hello. Being able to chat with someone you pass in the street or in a park is good for our mental health – and theirs. It helps us get past that isolated feeling.
When it comes to our physical health, we would like to reiterate the same point, but for different reasons. Go outside! Fresh air and the sun is incredibly important to our bodies and immune system, which relies on Vitamin D. The sun is the only way we get that. The weather is just lovely at the moment, so take advantage of our glorious coastline, walk, talk and be well.

While the weather is so good, take dinner outside too. Have a barbecue in the garden or prepare a picnic for the beach and fill up on all the wonderful summer salads and fruits that are currently in season.
Summer Chicken Salad for 4
• Take 4 chicken breasts and sprinkle with a spice of your choice, salt, pepper and olive oil. Allow to rest for 20 minutes, then roast at 180ºC for about 20-25 minutes.
• Fill a salad bowl with as many different leafy greens as you can. Slice an avocado and spring onions, then add a vegetable for colour, like cherry tomatoes, red cabbage or ribbons of carrots. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and balsamic vinegar. That's it, done and delicious!
